The progress on the completed sold sections continue and the fishing is on!

Well it is official the family who bought Lot 2 Opoia Drive are the first family to have built and lived in our sub division!

It was touch and go but they got their paperwork a couple of days before Christmas and there has been family holidaying there from then to yesterday.

We remember when the section was first purchased listening, to their vision for a multi generational holiday home to help the family spend quality time together. lt's been a privilege to watch the family work together for the final result.

The 2 home complex that comprises 7 not 6 bedrooms that I reported last month ,is bought together by a huge deck with glass panels to picture frame their stunning views

Other section updates……

Lot 1 - SOLD

Well the 20ft container, 12m2 studio unit and water tank have had additions to the family with a caravan and spa bath now sitting on the future garage slab.

Although both busy people the owners have been doing a lot of painting and organising on site.

Now they tell me they have to tear themselves away from the Awhitu Peninsula to go to Rarotonga for almost 3 months.

What a sacrifice.

Lot 3 - SOLD

The owners have been holidaying in Australia for most of December and January but their big shed slab is close to being poured and the talk of what else will be happening of their site in the next 2 months is exciting.

They also made a very important and strategic investment by buying lot 8 just before Christmas, which protects their water views and gives them future rental cash flow.

Lot 4 - SOLD

Lot 5 - SOLD

We have had our section that we are keeping completely shaped mid December, with 320 ton of metal going down as the base for the driveway, boat shed and house.

The boat shed slab was poured in the middle of this month and the shed components are getting freighted from Christchurch next week.

It looks like it will be completed at the end of February .

I learned a valuable lesson here, as we were almost not going to put any windows on the south east side of the shed but then we run it past a couple of people and decided to do it. Do not rush the planning decisions is my advice and get a couple of opinions from trusted people. In this case we will have great shed with more awesome water views.

Lot 6 - SOLD

Work in progress through the design and feasibility stage

Lots 7 - AVAILABLE

We have good interest in this section but it is still available for sale at present.

Lot 8 - SOLD

Lot 9 - AVAILABLE - We have good interest in this section but it is still available for sale at present.

On the fishing front, after coming back from holiday mid January we would spend an hour each night with the light and a spear looking for flounder. Over 4 nights we would either get 2 or 4 flounder each time and have some fun.

They are such a tasty fish.

The west cost has also been going off with game fish with Tuna, Marlin and lots of other species being caught and the snapper fishing has also been great with the fish in close.
